The Travel Institute's Lifestyle
Specialist Programs
The rapid growth in niche travel planning
and an ever-more educated consumer is fundamentally changing the dynamic
between client and retailer. This demands that travel counselors possess
even more knowledge about a wider variety of travel niches to best serve
specialized travel needs.
To meet this demand The Travel Institute
introduces a new line of specialist courses that reflect important trends
in consumer travel planning, and are an extension of the Institute's
successful Destination Specialist program. The new courses will include:
Accessible Travel, Adventure Travel, Diving, Gay and Lesbian Travel,
Golf, Honeymoons and Destination Weddings, Luxury Travel, Spas, and
Yacht Charters.
The Travel Institute offers two levels
of Lifestyle Specialist certification. By preparing for and passing a
standardized test, travel professionals will earn the Specialist
designation for their chosen niche. Those Specialists then have an
opportunity to become a Certified Specialist, demonstrating
advanced knowledge by:
- Attaining at least one year of
relevant travel industry experience.
- Completing a required number of
related business activities from a checklist.
- Maintaining the certification every
five years.
